Grand Palace

One of the golden warrior guardians!

More beautiful architecture.

Offering eggs to the Bhudda!
Some kind of offering...im so ignorant as to what though?!
The kings Palace in Bangkok...surreal!

Took the #53 bus to the Grand Palace / Temple of the Emerald Buddha this morning...woke up about 3:30 and couldn't get back to bed....So at 7:30 we hopped on the bus and away we went. Well, the bus was rerouted due to a religious demonstration at the Palace, and so we had to "look and see" where we needed to go. This is hard on the ground level of Bangkok. Everything looks and smells the same.
I will post pictures of this at some point, but today wont be the day. This computer is on perma-vacation! The grand palace is an amazing place. My 10Baht is about to run out so i have to publish this now. Be back later!

I am excited to get a glimpse into your trip and can't wait to see more! Thinking about all of the good times you are having and am actually jealous of the 95 degree weather - it's cold and rainy here! Take care and write when you can!

you dont have to answer my questions but I am still going to ask them because I would be asking them if I were there. If the Buddha's belly is already full, does it eat the eggs, or do they go bad? I noticed the Kings palace does not have many windows, does he ever come out into the courtyard and say hello to the people in the same way the queen of England does on occasion, or does he just stay inside all day sitting on his throne chair like King Theodin in LOTR awaiting his people to come and ask him to go to war or whatever else? Also, I've heard of religious demonstrations in America, what are they like in a prominently buddhist country? Are they peaceful demonsrations, and are the "demonstrating" against the government? Is this perhaps what someone might run up to the King on his throne and tell him in very much the same way that Aragon did to King Theodin when he saw the beacons of Minis Tirith lite up?
